Rawls cover 08

Red Cadillac was nominated for Best Soul Blues Album of the Year at the Blues Music Awards and Johnny was nominated for Best Male Soul Vocalist! The Blues Music Awards are the blues music Grammys. The Awards show was held in Memphis on May 7th.

Red Cadillac has also been nominated for the Living Blues Magazine Award for Best Album of the Year.

The new Johnny Rawls CD "Red Cadillac" was #1 on the Blues Charts in the US and Internationally for radio airplay in August and has stayed on the charts in the top 20 during September and October.

Congratulations to Johnny for his first #1 hit. The CD, which was released August 1, is selling so well we have already had to order a second pressing of it. Johnny recruited top studio musicians to back him, including the Rays.

The 2005 album "No Boundaries" by Johnny Rawls and the Rays was top 10 on the Living Blues radio airplay charts and stayed in the top 25 for 4 months. It was played on over 300 stations in the US and overseas. Blues Revue wrote "powerful and inspired, replete with top-notch instrumental and vocal performances and superb, soulful batch of songs." It received a rare 4 star rating by Downbeat Magazine. Johnny believes "Red Cadillac" is his best yet and we agree.

The new EP by Blue Condition, "Cheap Wine", will be released June 22. The band is now playing to sold out shows. They are the hottest new band in Texas and will tour Texas and the Midwest this summer, playing Austin City Limits in late summer or early fall. Johnny Rawls and The Rays start recording a new CD May 17 at Sonic Ranch Studios in El Paso. August 1 is the projected release date.
